Semaphorin 7A initiates T-cell-mediated inflammatory responses through [alpha]1[beta]1 integrin
Article Abstract:
A demonstration that Semaphorin 7A (Sema7A) expressed on activated T cells stimulates cytokine production in monocytes and macrophages through [alpha]1[beta]1integrin as a component of the immunological synapse is presented. The findings identify a function of Sema7A as an effector molecule in T-cell-mediated inflammation and reveal a mechanism of integrin-mediated immune regulation.

Complex between nidogen and laminin fragments reveals a paradigmatic beta-propeller interface
Article Abstract:
Crystal structure of the nidogen-1 G3-III omplex with laminin shows that the nidogen G3 domain assumes a symmetrical six-bladed beta-propeller fold interface. Data reveal the six-bladed beta-propeller domain consisting of Tyr-Trp-Thr-Asp (YWTD) in the nidogen is bound to laminin epidermal-growth-factor-like modules in laminin.

Structural basis for allostery in integrins and binding to fibrinogen-mimetic therapeutics
Article Abstract:
Integrins are important adhesion receptors in all Metazoa that transmit conformational change bidirectionally across the membrane. The alpha and beta integrin subunits form a head and two long legs in the ectodomain and span the membrane and the fibrinogen-mimetic therapeutics bind to platelet integrin alpha(sub llb)beta3.
